Recipe: Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

I saw these bad boys on Molly’s Blog originally and knew I had to try them!  :)  I used my own chocolate chip cookie recipe though and used original NOT double stuffed oreos and they were delicious and the kids loved them!  Here is the recipe…

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons hot water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 package Oreos (regular or double stuff)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, then chocolate chips.
  3. Using a cookie scoop, take one scoop of cookie dough and place on top of an Oreo cookie.  Take another scoop of dough and place on the bottom of the Oreo cookie.  Press and cup in hand to form a ball, and seal the edges together, so the Oreo is completely covered (I left them open and they turned out fine).  Place onto your silpat baking sheet and bake cookies for 9-13 minutes.  Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
