road trip

Today we are headed to Bend, Oregon for a baseball tournament…
As you read this we are already on the road (and I’m already missing our dogs).
Our family LOVES road trips and we are excited to be a part of this trip and we’re looking forward to
the fun and memories we are about to experience.

I’m taking along the book
‘What Happens When Women Say Yes To God’
to ready and study while I’m there…  especially on the long drive.  ;)
I already started it last night and it’s going to be powerful!
My soul longs for more of Jesus and what He wants for me…

I’m excited to share stories and photos of the next 5 days…

Hope all of you have an amazing Memorial Day weekend!
I am hoping to update this weekend but not sure if I’ll have the time…  :)

Family Time

duck baseball

This past weekend we took the boys to the Oregon Ducks Baseball game in Eugene…
They sweeped Stanford in the series and we had a blast together.
The boys are always so good on road trips…
We had amazing seats and they cheered on their favorite players, they ran the bases after the game and
before heading home we went to our favorite Mexican Restaurant and had dinner.

Here are a few pictures I took that day!  :)

Last Sunday we took the boys, along with some friends and headed down to Eugene for the U of O Duck Baseball game and it was sooooo much fun!  The boys all enjoyed hanging out with each other, receiving high fives and nice words from the players, etc, the hubbys enjoyed each others company while watching the game and I, of course LOVED hanging out with Erin and having a little girl talk while we watched the Ducks beat Arizona 7-6!!  It was a super relaxing day and both of my boys fell asleep on the way home!  :) When we got home we had dinner, the boys went outside and played for a bit and were both in bed at 7pm (on their own) and asleep by 7:15pm.  It was precious!!!  Hubs and I enjoyed a ‘Date Night At Home’ and snuggled on the couch and watched Zero Dark Thirty.  Such an amazing day!

Here are a few pictures that captured our day!  :) The collages were made by Jeremy (my gf’s hubby).

Tuesday I decided to try Ruthie’s recipe for Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars and they are delicious!  Since it’s GAME DAY I thought you might like to try a yummy treat to serve during the game!!!  You’re welcome in advance!!  ;)

Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars

Ingredients
1box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 eggs
1 (12 oz) pkg chocolate chips
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 tbsp butter
2 tsp vanilla
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
2. Combine cake mix, melted butter, peanut butter, and eggs in a large bowl and mix thoroughly
3. Pour into a full sized baking dish but set aside 1.5 cups of the mixture for the topping
3. In a small pot, melt the chocolate chips, condensed milk and butter. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla
4. Spread the chocolate mixture over the cake mixture and top with remaining 1.5 cups of cake mix (it won’t cover the entire baking dish so make sure you even it out)
5. Bake for 20-25 minutes depending on your oven. Cool and cut into individual bars

Right before I put it in the oven

Fathers Day Weekend

Sorry this post is waaaaaaaaaay late but for some odd reason I couldn’t upload the photos for the life of me…  So a month later you get to see how we spent Fathers Day weekend in photos…  We went down to Devils Lake with some friends for some fun in the sun~ friendship with lots of laughs, delicious food including making smores in the bonfire and play time on the boat.  We had an amazing time and memories that we’ll cherish for a lifetime!  :)

Yes, of course I baked! ;)

I know you’ll all be asking for the recipe…  these cookies are a cinch to make and totally addicting.  I make them monthly and every time we go away because they travel well and they are a favorite of everyone who tries them.  A girlfriend of mine made them for me when I was on bedrest and I’ve been hooked ever since~ And now so is everyone else!  ;)

Memorial Day Weekend

rejoice

We had a very relaxing yet fun and productive long holiday weekend.  The boys didn’t have school on Friday or Monday and I’ve had some complications from my surgery
so I’ve been off of my feet a lot but we had a blast this weekend.

Chloe snuggling daddy

Friday I had the boys help me pick out some summer camps and we got them all signed up…  The boys played outside with daddy a ton and I got to sit on the sidelines with my feet up and watch!  Lol :)
Saturday was another fun day and the boys played outside a ton (again) and then in the afternoon
we took them to a friends baseball game which was awesome.  He is on a Babe Ruth team and they absolutely creamed the other team…  Boys loved it!  :)
I also finally got caught up on laundry over the weekend since it had started to pile up a bit since my surgery.  Haha

my boys... xoxo

Sunday the message at church was amazing and I suggest you listen to or watch the sermon here.  It was all on Philippians and the key verse of the week…
To live is Christ and to die is gain. -Philippians 1:21
We went out for Mexican food after church and spent the rest of the day just as a family outside with the kids and BBQ’ing.
Monday we relaxed, played outside some more since the weather was insanely nice and then took the boys to Omsi to the OMNIMAX Theater to see Born To Be Wild.
It was so good and the boys loved it.

OMNIMAX show

Afterwards we went to Nostrana and shared a couple of yummy pizzas…  Love that place and we def recommend going!!
Yesterday the boys were back in school and I layed in bed ALL DAY since I’ve been dizzy and light headed from the blood loss…
My mama came over to keep me company and brought me a coffee and a scone…  I felt spoiled and it was so good to just sit with her and talk.  :)

I did go to the boys baseball game last night though which I always love.
Hope everyone had a fun relaxing weekend and I’ll have a giveaway this Friday!

Enjoy the rest of your day!!
