Home Sweet Home

lakeshasta

We decided to start driving home yesterday and spent all day driving from Palm Desert to Sacramento and we spent the night there…  The grapevine had been closed the night before and it reopened about 30 minutes prior to us going through it!  There was snow and it was absolutely beautiful!  Before heading through the grapevine, we stopped at In N Out for a burger and my most favorite thing about this chain is that they put bible verses on their cups, etc. And it’s one of my favorite verses…

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ~John 3:16

I decided I’d let Cocoa sit on my lap to keep me warm while Paul drove and she was so cute!

Here is the grapevine…  It was so pretty!

Today is the more beautiful leg of the drive as we travel through Northern California and back into Oregon…  Lake Shasta and Mt. Shasta are so stunning!

My sweet Camden is asleep and adorable and missing all of the pretty views…

Lake Shasta is stunning…

And this is coming up on Mt. Shasta…

And passing by it…

Only another 1.5 hrs until we are home sweet home…  We’re in the home stretch and I couldn’t be more thrilled!  Already have my week of meals planned out and as soon as I get the boys to bed I’m heading to the grocery store to stock up…  It’s so good to be home…  There is no place like it!  :)

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.  ~ Ecclesiastes 3:11

Last day of vacation…

chloe

So today is our last day of vacation and our sweet Cooper is very sick…  I took him to urgent care this morning and wouldn’t ya know it, he has strep throat!  SAY WHAT?????  Yes!  I am in complete shock and to top it off, the dr says not to travel home tomorrow even though we are just driving…  We will see how Coop is in the morning because I really feel like we just need to bed home already!  :/

Besides being super sick and now on antibiotics, here is my smiling little boy with Cocoa.  Love his positive attitude in the midst of trial. Sorry for the bad quality of these photos but they are from my iphone as I have already packed up our camera.

Here is our sweet little Chloe snuggling me on my lap…  She is so stinkin cute!

I’m also watching football and the fishies…  Love that I can do both at the same time!  :)

And I know y’all are laughing but Oregon does NOT carry my favorite brand of peanut butter, Laura Scudders, so when I come to California I totally stock up on it…  This should last me until I’m back here next month (we LOVE pb and eat a ton of it)!  You must try it if you haven’t and I promise you will be hooked!

Signing off…  even though we are starting the year off with a sick lil one, I have hope!  I can’t wait to get home and get back into a schedule…  It’s going to be a fabulous year!  :)

Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. ~ Jeremiah 17:7

Merry Christmas!

My side of the family goes crazy on Christmas eve as that is when my big Italian family has a humongous feast…  I am exhausted beyond belief and have to be up at 3:30am tomorrow morning to head down to California…  Here are a few pictures to recap our evening.

My mom loves putting glass balls/ornaments in pretty crystal bowls and vases so here is one…  HAHA

My niece, Izzy and I loving on each other in our new Blazer jerseys…  LOVE!  She is such a cutie…  I was caught talking in this pic (what’s new)!  ;)

And here is my brother, Chris and his wife, my super adorable sister in law, Kristine!

I’m so excited that my parents gave me an ipad for Christmas this year!  Now I have something fun to play with on our vacation and I can update my website from it!  WooHoo

I will end on a greater note…  The presents and material things mean nothing and don’t really matter because truth be told, they won’t make it to heaven with me!  What matters most and what we are really celebrating tonight, tomorrow and always, for that matter, is the birth of our amazing, loving & captivating Savior, Jesus Christ!  Without Him, none of us would even be here and I cannot begin to comprehend the suffering, torture and distress that He went through for MY sins and yours!  Think about this and if you don’t know Christ I suggest that you fully give your life to Him today!  It’ll be the best choice you’ve EVER made and His love is a love like to other…  He will never ever forsake you and His love is eternal!

Here are my two verses for you tonight…  I am dwelling on these as I drift off to sleep so excited to celebrate the birth of my Savior!  He truly is like no other!

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ~Isaiah 9:6

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. ~Romans 15:13

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS!!!

Christmas Cheer!

It has been SUPER busy in our house and we are recovering from more sickness…  Wonder when we’ll all catch a break!  This is the second time that the yuckies have passed through every person in our house!  :(

This year we got the tiniest tree ever but we actually absolutely love it!  Since we leave on Christmas morning before the sun comes up we figured the smaller the better because it’s a pain taking it down late on Christmas eve…  I also cheated big time this year and didn’t wrap a single gift…  I did gift bags for everybody and it saved me mounds of time!  I may just do it again every year!  LOL Although I won’t have the excuse of being sick every year (Lord willing)!

The kids had their school program which was absolutely adorable and Nunni & Grampa got to come enjoy the entertainment also!  They always love watching their grandkids do EVERYTHING!  And I must admit, they are adorable children!  ;)

Cooper and Camden also had their class parties and I had so much fun helping out…  Cooper’s class made mini gingerbread houses so I took Cooper to buy bulk candy to decorate it and Camden’s class frosted cookies, played Christmas bingo, made cards and did a few other crafts!  By far an amazing way to end the week before Christmas break started!

To top off the night we took the boys to the Festival of Lights at Portland International Raceway and it was GORGEOUS!!!!  They gave us a cd to put into the car as we drove through the miles of lights that coordinated with the lights…  Brilliant!  We had so much fun.  I swear I’m getting old because I’m ready for bed by 9pm every night!  We’re excited for Christmas and ready for sunny Southern California!

Happy Thanksgiving!

coopturk

We are so excited for Thanksgiving and have so much to be thankful for this year (and every year)…  We have a roof over our heads and our health, an amazing church and a wonderful and supportive group of friends, sweet little boys who love Jesus!  I am counting my blessings and my cup overflows…  What more could we ask for really!?!  Looking forward to the long weekend and spending time as a family!  The boys are needing things to keep busy busy since being out of school and making turkey shirts was all I could come up with today!  LOL  Here are the pictures…

Pretty sure my seemingly silly idea was a fabulous idea to the boys!  They both were smiling and loved every second of getting paint on their hands!  They did not want the fun to end!  :) Hope everyone of you had a wonderful turkey day as well and I hope you got to dwell on all the Lord has blessed you with!
