Couch day

I’ve got an awesome head cold going on here so my day is consisting of
laying on our couch snuggling with these furry cuties for the rest of the day.
Of course football is on and I promised the hubs
that I’d make him Chili Con Queso to snack on while we watch games
so he’s out getting the ingredients for me so I don’t have to get off the couch!  😉
Excited to make it for him though…  Such a sweetie!
My sweet lil dogs keep nuzzling up to my belly and licking it… They love that baby in there already
and it is so so sweet!  Such a blessing!!
Happy Saturday, friends…  Hope y’all are having an amazing day!

Baby Shower Faves

I love baby showers and all of the cuteness and fun that comes with them!  There are so many great ideas and expressions while planning any party and since I will be having a shower of my own in a few months…  Naturally, I had to check out all of the new and fun ideas out there!  And besides that, I love hosting parties for people and love putting together all of the intricate details that come along with them!  Pure cuteness!  <3

Homemade Hot Cocoa

Winter is the perfect time for a hot cup of cocoa…  Sitting around the fire this morning with stockings hung, and the excitement and giggles of our children, I am so excited to make some sweet, warm chocolatey goodness!  As part of the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program, I created a yummy hot drink featuring Sweet’N Low.

This recipe is so simple you’ll love it!  I already had the ingredients on hand and the sweetness that the Sweet’N Low brings without the guilt of sugar makes it that much better!  It’s sure to be a hit in your home, and you can adjust the chocolate and sweetness to your liking.

I love using Sweet’N Low during pregnancy because I try to watch my sugar intake to not gain an unhealthy amount of weight.

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup milk
2-3 tablespoons cocoa powder
2-3 packets of Sweet’N Low
Whip Cream for topping

DIRECTIONS:
Warm the milk in a saucepan until hot.
Add the cocoa and Sweet’N Low to taste and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and pour into a mug and top with whip cream.

Disclosure: As a part of the DailyBuzz Food Tastemaker program, Sweet’N Low™ provided me with a stipend and product for sampling. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Christmas Wreath Cupcakes

My bloggy friend, Erin, made the most adorable Christmas Wreath Cupcakes EVER and so I just had to ask her if I could share with you…  Check out her adorable site at Currently Coveting…  This recipe and photos are taken from her site.  You’ll find tons of cute fashions posts and delicious and fun recipes.  Enjoy!

Cupcakes (recipe concocted by yours truly)
1 box white cake mix
2/3 cup oil
1 cup coconut milk (from the milk section, not the sugary canned kind)
4 eggs
1 box coconut cream pudding mix
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon imitation coconut extract (seriously a little goes a long way with this stuff)
2/3 cup sweetened coconut flakes

Bake on 350 degrees for 20 mins.

Wreath
When I have to dye my own icings those non-pastel hues I end up having to use so much dye and it gets a bit runny so I cheated a little and bought the red and green Cake Mateicings with this four pack of icing tips.  I used the starred one for the green wreath part and the small circle one for the red bow.  I threw on some sprinkles but they kinda went all over the cupcake so you can leave that part off if you don’t dig it.
