I’ve Learned

I know I’ve already posted today but I ran across this and it just made me cry…  I absolutely LOVE this and it is soooooo true!  Hope everyone has an amazing & blessed night!  Kids have been asleep for an hour and I’m going to go spend some time with my man!  🙂

I’ve Learned-

that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.

I’ve learned-

that no matter how much I care, some people just don’t care back.

I’ve learned-

that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it.

I’ve learned-

that no matter how good a friend is, they’re going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I’ve learned-

that it’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts.

I’ve learned-

that you should never ruin an apology with an excuse.

I’ve learned-

that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you’d better know something.

I’ve learned-

that you shouldn’t compare yourself to the best others can do.

I’ve learned-

that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.

I’ve learned-

that it’s taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.

I’ve learned-

that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I’ve learned-

that you can keep going long after you can’t.

I’ve learned-

that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I’ve learned-

that either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I’ve learned-

that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place.

I’ve learned-

that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I’ve learned-

that money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I’ve learned-

that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.

I’ve learned-

that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you’re down will be the ones to help you get back up.

I’ve learned-

that sometimes when I’m angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn’t give me the right to be cruel.

I’ve learned-

that people will forget what you said, and people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

I think I’m going to add one more to this just from me… 🙂

I’ve learned-

to lean on, depend on and trust in Jesus because He is the ONLY One that can save you and your identity should rest in & be driven only by Him.  In the end, nothing else will matter…

Sick but loved!

It’s been a few days and I have been SOOOO sick!  🙁 I felt so horrible because I cancelled everything for the whole weekend and I’m hoping I didn’t hurt any feelings or upset anyone but trust me that you would not have wanted to be around me!  🙁

The boys thoroughly enjoyed their art class on Thursday and here is a cute picture of their giraffes that they did!  Looking forward to picking up their clay zebras later this week!  🙂

Friday we missed out on seeing our friend Kaden, Saturday we missed out on dinner with our good friends, the Adams, and Sunday we missed out on the Winterhawks game with our friends, the Leungs!  So sorry to all of you that we missed out on all the fun and we look forward to seeing all of you when I’m fully healthy which will be soon, Lord willing!  Thank you also for all of the prayers…  They are so appreciated and while I have a ways to go, I am definitely on the mend!  Oh, and have I mentioned how much I love pretty flowers!?!  These beauties are gracing our island right now and I’m loving the beautiful, cheery yellow color!  God is so good!  🙂

I really enjoyed my week last week with my two beautiful and precious boys even though I was a bed ridden sickie all weekend long!  Yesterday they started school again and I miss them all day!  I just adore being a mommy and although it’s a tough job, mentally and physically tiring , trying and angering sometimes, it is the most wonderful job title that I’ve ever had!  What a beautiful blessing the Lord has given to me…  I get to share Jesus with my babies everyday, teach them, steer them in the right direction, be their biggest fan, nurture them with love, patience (not always) and food (cooking is what I do best) and so much more!  I just am so lucky to have them in my life and I swear, they teach me so much more then I could ever teach them!  I love you, Cooper & Camden…  You two (and daddy) are the absolute loves of my life and I’m so lucky to get to go through life with you and watch you grow into amazing, God fearing men!  I’m so proud of both of you and the gentleness and concern you show to others!!

One last thing that I read somewhere today that I’d like to share with all of you…

The true measure of your identity & security in Christ is revealed by how you respond when you are excluded, overlooked or forgotten by man.

Bowling, Jumpy Houses, Golf & Deer!

What a fun week this has been already…

Monday we took the boys bowling and had so much fun!  We got to bowl in the new section of the alley where they have big comfy couches and tables and it was actually very relaxing for me!  haha We ordered french fries and onion rings (per the boys request) and they were so yummy!  🙂

Tuesday I took the boys to Out of This World with my friend Paige and her precious daughter, Kenzie!  I didn’t get any pictures of them which I’m really bummed about because they are just so cute together!  🙂

Wednesday (today), has been a VERY LONG day!!!  We took the boys golfing and then they had their first baseball practice this evening which they are super excited about this season…  Here are a few pictures from golfing this afternoon…  Some deer ran across the course while we were playing and they were soooooo cute!  It was so much fun for the kids!  🙂

We’re all excited for tomorrow because the boys are doing a fun art class I signed them up for…  Excited to see what they make (something to do with animals, I hear)!!  😉

Fun Filled Weekend

We had a lot going on this weekend but I’ll spare you every detail as I might bore you to pieces but we did have some friends over for dinner last night and they have a new baby who is absolutely adorable and the kids had so much fun holding him and playing with him!  I think they are ready for another baby in this house full time!  😉 Here are a couple of pictures of Micah and of Cooper holding him!

And tonight we took the boys to Fuji’s (Camden’s pick) because we had never been and it was actually pretty good!  🙂

I am SOOOOO looking forward to spending this next week with my boys since they are out of school…  I have lots of fun things planned and I get to love on them all week!  🙂

In The Eye Of The Storm

We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. -Daniel 9:18

We prefer to get salvation the old fashioned way: We earn it.  To accept grace is to admit failure, a step we are hesitant to take.  We opt to impress God with how good we are rather than confessing how great He is…  Think that God will smile on our efforts.  He doesn’t.  God’s smile is not for the healthy hiker who boasts that he made the journey alone.  It is, instead, for the crippled leper who begs God for a back on which to ride.

We repent, God redeems.

I love that last weekend our pastor gave an amazing sermon about sex.  I know, I know…  You probably think I’m crazy crazy writing this but I found the whole thing so fascinating and it’s the perfect example of what sex is supposed to look like!  The bible says that sex is only for marriage and never to be done outside of marriage…  SUPER IMPORTANT!!  We went through one of the most amazing and explicit books of the bible which is Song of Solomon or aka Song of Songs and also Genesis 1 and 1 Corinthians.  I learned so much and want all of you to hear what marital sex is supposed to be like.  You can listen to the sermon on our church website.  Visit

Here is a list of 7 things about marital sex that you should know…

1. Marital sex is romantic and verbal

2. Marital sex is visual

3. Marital sex is safe

4. Marital sex is holy

5. Marital sex is responsive

6. Marital sex is the way to become one

7. Marital sex is blessed by God Himself

I know I’m not going into great detail but this is just an outline…  You absolutely MUST listen to this amazing sermon!  Definitely worth your time and if you need me to mail you a copy please ask and I’ll gladly send one!  🙂

As husbands and wives, we need to be generous to each other when it comes to sexual love…  Men and women are different and we need different things…

2 things we need to do are…

A.  Always respect and honor our husbands (Ephesians 5:33)

B.  Always be responsive to our husbands attempts at romance…  Listen to more on this in the audio of the sermon.

You aren’t off the hook on this one!  😉  There are 4 things for you to do as well when it comes to your beautiful bride…

1.  Love your wife and have eyes only for her! (Invest in this amazing woman that you chose to marry)

2.  NEVER compare your wife to other woman

3.  Never be rough with your wife and always serve her

4. Be romantic and affectionate romantically as well as verbally

It’s always so important to put others needs before your own and this goes for your spouse, as well as your children and others in general.  I always feel so good when I wake up in the morning and am in the Word, reading and dwelling on what the Lord has for me and I love to ask myself, ‘What can I do today that will make my husband and kids lives easier?  What can I do to serve them today, Lord?’  He always gives me something when I ask this and I’ll tell you, it blesses me every time.  I want to live for Him, not me.  I want to serve Him and not myself…  It’s always His will and not mine!  As soon as I loose sight of that for one second the enemy sweeps in and tears me to shreds.  In which case it’s time to repent, and He always redeems.  His love is so perfect and all encompassing and I just love that I serve a God like this!  I’m so unworthy but still He loves me and I am washed clean by His blood.  Christ paid my ransom and all of yours and He bore our shame…  How can we not follow and serve someone who has done that for us!?!

Today, ask the Lord what He wants for you, ask how you can serve someone else, and I guarantee you it will not only bless another person, but it will bless you as well, beyond what you could imagine.  If you can make one persons life easier, even for just a moment, then you have shown them Jesus.  And sometimes, that all it takes for someone to change their life forever.  It’s because of His love, that we live!

Sports & Snow Days

So I have been a total flake and completely bombarded with life and I haven’t gotten around to an update in what feels like months!

Weekend before last we had such a fun time as a family…  We took the kids bowling which is always a blast and went to a fun ice creamery (yes, we’re crazy doing this in 30 degree weather but oh well) and tried some pretty brilliant flavors!  :O

The boys are actually really good bowlers (like daddy) so they do not take after me in this sport, praise the Lord!

Sundays sermon was amazing so I think it deserves it’s own post so check back for that!  After church we took a drive out to wine country to attend our quarterly wine pick up party.  We took the kids with us this time which we’ve never done and really enjoyed our time.  The food was amazing and they spoiled the boys.

Last week was a busy one and Monday the boys had the day off of school so we got together with some friends for a playdate which was fun and I wish I had gotten some pictures but I failed!  🙁 Tuesday I volunteered in both kids classrooms and then sat with each of them at their lunch and I had so much fun watching them eat and interact with their friends.  They are growing up much too fast but I’m so blessed and feel so thankful that I have two children who love Jesus and are so sweet and have so much love to give and pour out to others!

The rest of the week was a blur as I was busy with chores and errands and well…  life!  🙂  I tried some delicious new recipes and I have a recipe contest winner that I can’t wait to share with you this weekend!  Mmm Mmm  Wednesday we got a snow tease and this is what it looked like on the way to school but then it all melted!  It was pretty while it lasted!  😉

Thursday ended up snowing and so the boys had another day off of school!  I love how this city pretty much shuts down during a snow storm.  🙂  Anyway, the boys had a blast playing in the snow and they looked so darn cute I wanted to eat them up!  We also enjoyed looking at our pretty view and sipping on hot cocoa!

This past Saturday and Sunday the boys had basketball games both days and were so exhausted by the end of the weekend they shed a few tears of exhaustion to say the least but nothing that some yummy meals, snuggle time and early bedtime couldn’t fix!  Haha

My highlight of the past week was finding this precious note on my pillow from my amazing 7 year old…  He really knows how to make a girl smile!  😉

Tonight I am really looking forward to having a date night with my husband.  We are way past due for this and it is much needed time together…  We’re headed to dinner and the Blazer game and I couldn’t be more excited!  Oh, and I made these yummy treats to share…
