Weekend Recap

This weekend was super busy as usual and I got a few pictures to document also…

Friday night we went to the golf club with my parents for their usual ‘Friday Night Dinner’ and the kids had so much fun…  We let them have what I call ‘mock shirley temples’ because for some reason I think grenadine is disgusting and full of sugar and dyes and it makes my kids act funny (especially before bed) so they either have lemonade with a splash of cranberry or pineapple juice with a splash of cranberry and to top them off I let them have a maraschino cherry!  I know, that’s so ‘big’ of me right!?!  😉 Well they enjoyed it and we let them have dessert also because they ate all of their dinner!  Cooper had halibut parmesan and ate everything on his plate and Cam stuck with mac n cheese…  Here are our pictures from the evening…  Cammy wanted a picture of just mommy because he thought I looked so ‘pretty like a princess’!   haha

Saturday was a super busy day…  The boys had an early basketball game and then we took them to meet Brandon Heath which they were super excited about and then couldn’t stop talking about!  🙂

And then we had some friends over for a pizza night and had so much fun (as usual)…  Jer and Kate are such a silly couple and it’s always a good, relaxing time of catching up!

Sunday we heard a great message at church and then had fun spending the day together as a family hanging out, playing sports and relaxing!

Today we are starting another busy week and I’m super excited about this weekend and gearing up for the Superbowl!  Should be a fun game to watch and I’m excited to have our friends over to watch and relax!  🙂 And did I mention I get to cook also!?!  Always so much fun for me!  WooHoo

Recipe Contest!

Ok so here’s the deal…  I’m doing a fun recipe contest here on my website!  Please enter 1 dinner and 1 dessert (or multiple) recipe(s) that you love and send to me via email at paulandlaura9@comcast.net or through a comment here on my website and once I have tried all of the recipes I will come up with a winner from each category and post the winning recipes on my site and you will win a lil prize that I’ll mail you (something fun and good that you’ll love, I promise)!  Thinking I’ll give the winner a choice of a scentsy warmer with a scent, a magazine subscription, a book or a Starbucks card (your choice)!  🙂 Depending on the number of recipes I receive will determine how long this will take because if I receive 30 recipes it’ll take a month, etc…  🙂  This should be fun as I LOVE to cook and bake and I love to give things away so it’s a win/win!  Have fun and please try and limit your entries to 5 recipes per category!  Good luck!

Ask Anything!

I have seen that lots of bloggers have done a “Questions” post where anyone can ask them any kind of question and they will do their best to answer it.

I really don’t know who all reads this blog but I think things like this are kind of fun so if you have anything you would like to know about me or my family e-mail me, comment, twitter, or facebook me and I will do a post that answers the questions. This should be fun!  🙂

On a side note, when I was walking my boys to school this morning Camden saw his best friends bus pull up so we waited for him to get off…  They were hugging and holding hands and it was so adorable!  By the time I pulled my phone out to take a picture they weren’t holding hands anymore but it was still so cute!  Camden adores his friend, Benjamin!  🙂

Today was super busy as I worked in both of the kids classes and ran a ton of errands…  I’ve been super tired lately but life is good and I adore my amazing family!  Nothing too fun to post today!  😉

Lay Up drills with Bob the Tomato

Today has been a day of new beginnings and mega fun! Cooper and Camden had their first basketball practice this morning and are super excited to be on a team together this year. They didn’t have a coach yet for the boys team so Paul was appointed the coach! The boys are so excited to have daddy as their coach and I’m already loving organizing team things and watching Paul do drills with the kids! So fun and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season with a great group of kids!! Here are a few pictures from their first practice this morning.

After basketball we took the boys to a fun event to meet two Veggietales characters: Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber… The boys were excited of course and I got some cute picures… Here’s my favorite one…

Cooper is at the Blazer game with my mom and we’re watching him on tv right now… Missing him but know he’s having so much fun with his Nunni cheering on his favorite team!

We got to watch our friends girls for a few hours this evening and Camden had so much fun with his friends! It was so cute listening in on their conversations…. Little kids have the funnest conversations and things they say always blow me away! They told jokes, talked about their birthday parties and school, their friends and about Jesus’ life… I loved every minute of it. We put on a movie for them because it was almost bedtime and the girls chose Snow White… Camden wasn’t thrilled but was such a good sport, and secretly I enjoyed watching something girly for once in a house full of boys! 🙂 Here is Camden and Camille together…

The girls have gone home and we let Camden lay on the couch and fall asleep watching the Blazer game since his brother is there and ‘staying up late’ tonight. And what do ya know it, he obeyed and did just that! 😉 And I must say he looks adorable as usual!

Okay, time to shut off the iPad and watch the rest of this game. Sweet dreams. 🙂

‘Lily Poplocking’ aka Pippy Longstocking

This is soooo cute that I just have to share…

So we just got done eating dinner and I was cleaning up the kitchen when I hear my sweet little guy attempting to sing the Pippy Longstocking song but it was coming out as ‘Lily Poplocking’…  I made the mistake of correcting him and telling him it is Pippy Longstocking… Anyway, he was scooting on the floor with his head on the dog bed in only his undies…  Here is the cute video I got…

Got the camera ready just in case and got a few cute pictures and let the boys take some pictures of Paul and me also!  <3

Feeling very blessed tonight!  I have such an amazing family!  🙂

I’m a big boy like daddy!

I haven’t updated in a few days but a ton has been going on in our house…  😉 Monday was a holiday as you all know so the boys did not have school.  I tried my best to keep them busy and we had a wonderful day at home since it was pouring outside.  Cooper didn’t even change out of his pajamas which I loved!  haha 🙂  Camden was a shaving machine and by that I mean, all he wanted to do was shave all day like his daddy.  He asked if he could take a shower and of course I said yes since it was gonna happen that night anyway and he spent a good 25-30 minutes in there and it was so cute!  I was watching Cooper play the wii when I kept hearing all of this banging going on in the shower so I walked into the boys bathroom and peeked in on Cam in the shower and what do you know, he’s shaving his face (with his play, fake spiderman razor, of course)!  He didn’t see me so I ran downstairs to grab the camera and when I came back he heard me and turned around with his always smiling, adorable dimple faced smile and this is what I got…  This kids never fails to melt my heart!  🙂

After his 30 minute shower I cleaned up everything and started a load of laundry and this is what I walked out to…  My sweet boy was ‘napping in the sun’

He had pulled his chair out into the hallway in front of the stairs because we have a big window above the stairwell and the rays of the sun were beaming in…  It was hilarious but soooo cute to see him there snuggling with his dog ‘sleeping’! Then he decided it was so sunny that he’d better get his sunglasses on so here we are goofing off together!  🙂

And then pretending he’s sleeping again with the sunglasses on…

Boys wanted breakfast for dinner that night so we homemade waffles while daddy took Pastor Todd to the Blazer game!  We watched the first quarter of the game in mommy and daddy’s bed which was a treat and the boys fell fast asleep… Way to go mom…  I had to carry two 50 lb kids into their beds.  Ha Maybe not so smart thinking but definitely worth it to see their smiles!

Tuesday was a whirlwind and I was at the grocery store by 8am because I had so much to do because yesterday I had a minor surgery (don’t worry it was small and nothing fun to talk about)which pretty much made Wednesday a wash!  I had a dentist appointment right after grocery shopping and then I worked in Cam’s class before running a bunch more errands…  I did manage to get some soup (Ham & Corn Chowder) going in the slow cooker yesterday before my, ahem, Dr.’s appointment, so that my amazing husband wouldn’t have to worry about caring for me on the couch and the kiddos and dinner!  It was a super easy recipe and it actually turned out really yummy!

Today I am resting on the couch obviously and I have a wonderful and godly woman coming over for coffee this afternoon before I have to pick my boys up from school.  I am excited about the sweet fellowship I’m about to encounter this afternoon and it will be a perfect (almost) ending to a very relaxing day!  Even better, I am making panini’s for dinner which means I won’t have to stand around and cook because they are quick and easy!  WooHoo

Tomorrow I have a massage scheduled and that is a great way to start off my Friday and a fun weekend with my family…  A low-key weekend of course because I still will need to take it easy!  Hope y’all have an amazing weekend! <3

Kate’s 30th Birthday

Last night we celebrated my good friend, Katy and surprised her with a party for her 30th birthday!  I think she kind of suspected that something was up but she was super happy to have her closest friends and family around to celebrate her and of course we all had a good time!  Here are a few pictures from the evening…

She at least acted a little surprised but most important she felt special!  🙂 Love you, Kate!

Katy and her niece, Vienne.

One of the cutest pregnant girls you’ll ever see, Amanda and her husband, Ben.  🙂

Kate blowing out her 30 candles…

And giddily opening gifts…

Hope you had a happy birthday, Kate!  🙂 I had a lot of fun celebrating and wouldn’t you know it, we were home before 10pm and I even went to bed at my regular time!  Haha

Tonight I’m looking forward to a girls night out to the Blazer game with my mama!  GO BLAZERS!  😉

The Dog Ate My Homework

This week has been off the hook crazy in this house…  I have worked in both of the kids classrooms already and run my Grandma around town, grocery shopping is done for the next week and all meals are planned out through the middle of February!  Can you say Type A, crazy woman who is dependent on lists and sticks to them down to the hour!?!  It’s no wonder I’m so super exhausted all the time…  Or actually just this week!

Anyway, I am totally shocked by the homework that my 7 year old is bringing home…  Ummmmm, have things drastically changed or am I completely forgetting my childhood and the amount of homework we got?!?  Maybe I’m just losing my mind or call me nuts but this is a tad on the extreme side.  My 7 year old has to read independently for at least 20 minutes a day, and this is chapter books not just cutesy picture books, study for his weekly spelling test daily and has math homework daily that he has to turn in at the end of each week…  and we (the parents) have to sign off on it).  I also read to both of my boys for 20-30 minutes a day and we do a family devotion daily and my boys have to recite their weekly bible verse I give them…  Sooooo, where exactly does this leave play time…  I mean, after all, they are kids, right?  School is from 8:30-3pm, they come home and I make them a snack and they have a little time to relax and unwind and then we crank out the homework, have dinner at 5 or 5:30 and then another tiny bit of free time, showers at 6:45pm, brush teeth and get ready for bed and we read stories from 7-7:30pm and at &;30pm they go to bed…  Their whole life already revolves around school and homework.  Okay, done ranting and raving for the night.  Haha I know homework is necessary but they’re just so young still and I want them to play and have fun!

However, Cooper is extremely adorable while he sits at the table and works on his homework so here are a couple of pictures for you to enjoy….  Or, for me to enjoy!  😉

Go Ducks!

We were so excited for the game tonight and I’m crushed that we lost!  We played our hearts out though but I do have to say that I think there were a few really bad calls at the end!  We are true winners though and I love the guys on our team!  We totally deserved to win the trophy!  Here is how our afternoon went…

I had the shirt on that I designed all day and was so excited!  😉

Cam was so excited right before the game started that he had to get his picture taken with his favorite player, Kenjon Barner!

The boys got their wings all put together on their own and they were soooo proud!  🙂

Total nail biter for the boys and they were all serious here…

My sweet Chloe on my lap needing attention and wanting to be part of the fun!

My boys being super cute!

Coach… (I promised Cam I’d add this pic for him)

More Camden, being Camden…  He’s such a ham!  🙂 haha
